Prof. Tong Boon Quek, NRP director of Singapore visited the CKSRI

On November 28, 2024, Prof. Tong Boon Quek, the Chief Executive of the National Robotics Programme in Singapore, visited the Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute (CKSRI) and had the privilege of witnessing outstanding project demonstrations. Accompanied by Prof. Fumin Zhang, Director of CKSRI, Prof. Quek explored cutting-edge research in robotics and autonomous systems.

During the comprehensive tour, he was particularly captivated by several notable projects, including the gesture-controlled flying drone, the nurse robot Grace, and the miniature autonomous blimp. Prof. Quek expressed his admiration for these innovations, which are a testament to the ingenuity and versatility of robotic systems.

The visit served as an excellent platform to showcase the innovative research and development initiatives taking place at HKUST, while also exploring potential areas for collaboration between the universities.
