Dr. Chan and Mr. Chen were accompanied by Prof. Zhang and Prof. Su to visit the CKSRI to learn about the CKSRI’s developments in interdisciplinary research and industry-academia-research collaboration. Both parties also discussed potential future collaboration for the youth. This will strengthen the exchange of knowledge regarding innovation and technology, and utilise Hong Kong and HKUST’s resources in talent nurturing, knowledge transfer, and more.

 

The Hong Kong Observatory is a government department responsible for monitoring and forecasting weather, as well as issuing warnings on weather-related hazards. The Observatory also monitors and assesses radiation levels in Hong Kong, and provides other meteorological and geophysical services to meet the needs of the public and the shipping, aviation, industrial and engineering sectors.
