Prof. Gonzalo Hortelano, Nazarbayev University from Kazakhstan Visited the CKSRI

On December 2, 2024, Prof. Gonzalo Hortelano, Dean, School of Sciences and Humanities, Nazarbayev University from Kazakhstan, visited the Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute at HKUST, accompanied by Prof. ZHANG Fumin, Director of CKSRI, HKUST.

During this visit, Prof. Hortelano toured the advanced laboratories and research facilities, gaining insights into robotics technology and its applications across various fields. Student ambassadors from the institute provided detailed presentations on current research projects, highlighting innovative applications of intelligent robotics in healthcare, education, and environmental protection. They demonstrated how technology is driving social progress and sustainable development.

Prof. Hortelano remarked that this visit offered him valuable experience, particularly in understanding HKUST's leading position in robotics and interdisciplinary research.
